PICKING UP YOUR TRAILER

Thank you for booking with Empire Trailer Hire. We strive to make your experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

The first Step

1hr prior to your hire start time, you will receive an 'Unlock Details' email.

Opening the Lockbox

To open the lock box, simply touch the lockbox to wake it up.
Then enter your unique lockbox code and then press the Padlock.
(Your code is found in your Pick Up Instructions Email which you should recieve prior to hire start)
The lock will then chime and light up green
Now pull the lock face top open

Inside the lockbox

Inside you will find the key for the trailer lock
Unlock and remove the lock, storing it inside the RED toolbox
Store the key back in the lockbox
To unlock the lock, simply insert and turn the key a quarter turn. Then bottom plate should then slide down
Make sure the trailer handle is up, so the lock is released

(DO NOT DRIVE WITH LOCK ATTACHED)

Adaptor

There is an adaptor plug on the trailer should you need one
If the adapter is missing, simply take one from another trailer and we will have it replaced

Electric brakes

For the electric brakes to work on your trailer you need to make sure that:
Your car headlights are ON
You have downloaded the ElecBrakes App

Final checks

Check that the Safety chains are attached to tow vehicle correctly
Check Jockey wheel is up and locked
Ensure the coupling handle i s correctly down
Ensure the trailer plug is connected and all lights are working correctly
Check operation of the electric winch
Check operation on the Hydraulic Tilt

Returning the trailer

Parking

On return to the trailers pick up location, find a suitable park for the trailer
Reverse the trailer into the park, as far back as possible

Finishing up

Once the trailer is parked, disconnect it from your vehicle
Place the lock back onto the hitch and secure tightly
Place the key back in the lockbock using your unique code

Make sure the adaptor plug is placed back in the red toolbox
Make sure that the trailer is clean and free from rubbish
